Ray Barnes
Ray Barnes is the former Chief Administrative Officer of Visa International. He was a member of its ten-man global Management Executive Committee, Chair of the Investment Committee, and had Global responsibility for Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources and Strategy co-ordination. Prior to his tenure at Visa International, Ray was Australian New Zealand Bank’s (formerly Grindlays Bank) Executive Vice-President for the Americas; having also held the positions of Regional Director Middle East, and General Manager in Pakistan and India.
Ray has served as a Director of a number of organizations, including the US-New Zealand Economic Council in Washington DC and the International Banking Association in Washington DC , and a World Bank affiliate company in the sub-continent. Currently, Ray sits on the Advisory Board of LesConcierges Inc, and is Chair of the Advisors to Denarii Systems Inc, both US companies. He also maintains active business interests with the Middle East .
He is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants ; and has two married children and one grandchild. His sporting interests are golf, polo and mountain pursuits. He splits his time between Bedfordshire and Switzerland .
