- More than 2.4 million learners have taken over 6.56 million learndirect courses.
- 750 learndirect centres are located in local communities across England and Wales.
- 630 different learndirect courses are available in subjects as diverse as literacy and numeracy, specialist ICT and business and management.
- 75 per cent of learndirect learners are qualified below level two or are assessed as having a basic skills need.
- 44 per cent of learndirect learners are considered new to learning (i.e. no other learning undertaken in the last three years).
- Over 198,000 people have achieved their first Skills for Life (literacy or numeracy) test pass through learndirect.
- Altogether, more than 292,000 online tests in literacy and numeracy have been taken with learndirect.
- In 2005/06, learndirect delivered for 25 per cent of the Skills for Life tests target for the whole of the post-19 sector in England.
- 64 per cent of learndirect learners progress to other learndirect courses.
- More than 9.2 million calls have been made to the learndirect advice line and over 53.8 million information and advice sessions have taken place on the website.
- The learndirect advice service offers free, impartial information on nearly one million courses nationwide.
