Cynhadledd a Gwobrau Cyrhaeddiad learndirect - 9 Gorffennaf 2008
Eleni bydd y Gynhadledd yn canolbwyntio ar gyflogadwyedd a sgiliau sylfaenol yn y gymuned, a bydd yn cynnwys seremoni wobrwyo fawreddog a fydd yn dathlu gwaith a chyraeddiadau dysgwyr, busnesau a staff learndirect ledled Cymru.

Rwy'n falch iawn o gefnogi dysgu oedolion, yn enwedig Gwobrau Cyrhaeddiad learndirect gan fy mod i'n gwybod pa mor bwysig yw rhoi hwb i'ch sgiliau a'ch potensial. Mae'r Gwobrau'n cydnabod pobl, busnesau a chanolfannau dysgu sy'n gweithio i ddatblygu sgiliau newydd. Trwy weithio'n hyblyg i wella'u sgiliau er mwyn cael dyrchafiad, helpu'u plant neu chwilio am swydd, maen nhw i gyd yn cyfrannu at ddyfodol Cymru".

This year's Conference will focus on employability and basic skills in the community and will incorporate a prestigious awards ceremony that will celebrate the work and achievements of learndirect learners, businesses and staff throughout the whole of Wales.

BBC presenter Jason Mohammad is supporting this year's Achievement Award ceremony and is hosting the conference:
"I have always enjoyed learning new skills and overcoming challenges, both in my professional and personal life. One of my biggest and hardest achievements to date has been learning Welsh, and to become bilingual in order to obtain my dream job as a reporter. This skill has certainly enabled me to get where I am today. Going onto presenting and even testing my acting skills in an episode of Dr Who further demonstrates that anyone can learn a new skill and should not be frightened about doing something that is out of their comfort zone.
I'm always proud to support adult learning, especially the learndirect Achievement Awards because I know how important it is to boost your skills and potential. The Awards recognise people, businesses and learning centres who rise to the challenge of developing new skills. By flexibly working to improve themselves in order to get a promotion, help their children or to find employment, they are all contributing to the future of Wales".
