e-Government Awards

learndirect is proud to announce being crowned winners of the award for excellence in learning and skills at the prestigious e-Government Awards, adding to a number of other national awards claimed last year.

Director of Technology Dick Moore picked up the trophy at the ceremony at London's Guildhall. The awards celebrate the advances made over the last year in driving efficiency, collaborative working and improved interaction between businesses, citizens and the Government.

The awards attract around 450 entries and learndirect was in the same category as the Lancashire Music Service for Lancashire Music Service Interactive and DCSF for the National Strategies web area.

Addressing the ceremony via video link, the Prime Minister Gordon Brown praised the entrants. He said: “We are living through exceptional times. it’s hugely heartening to see such outstanding strides being taken to make e-Government work more smoothly, meeting challenges head-on and coming up with creative solutions that not only make services more efficient, but increase their effectiveness also."
