Veronica Stamp

After leaving school at 16 with no qualifications, Veronica Stamp, 30 from Middlesbrough, was worried about returning to learning. When she was made redundant however, she was forced to start again. After completing an Information Technology Qualification (ITQ) with learndirect, Veronica successfully changed careers, out of a factory and into an office role.

Shaun Drake

Shaun Drake, 42 from Folkestone. From a young age he became full-time carer of his mother. He later cared for both her and his father when they fell ill. As a result, Shaun spent little time at school and left with no qualifications. Then several years ago Shaun was attacked, which caused him serious injuries. Determined to turn his life around Shaun has gained a number of qualifications with learndirect, giving him a fresh start.
